The Problem

Cloud bills arrive late, confusing and expensive

Most teams only discover overspending after the month ends. AWS invoices are detailed, but not decision-friendly for fast-moving startups.

No clear ownership

CTOs and engineers check Cost Explorer occasionally, but no one monitors spend daily.

Surprises are common

Unexpected spikes from idle resources, data transfer and forgotten environments hit without warning.

Action takes too long

By the time teams identify the cause, the budget damage is already done.

What Clyst Does

Four capabilities. All actionable.

Clyst focuses on outcomes that teams can understand in minutes and act on immediately.

01

Visibility

See month-to-date spend with service- and resource-level cost breakdowns — including your top costliest resources across EC2, RDS, Lambda, and more.

02

Forecasting

Estimate end-of-month costs early and detect if you are trending above budget on day 12, not next month.

03

AI-Powered Recommendations

A local AI model generates recommendations across 6 categories — rightsizing, reserved instances, waste reduction, architecture, and monitoring — ranked by financial impact.

04

Proactive Alerts

Five built-in anomaly detectors: spend spikes, high-concentration services, forecast overruns, orphaned resources, and consistent growth trends. Plus custom rules you define.

Sound familiar?

If any of this sounds like you, Clyst was built for your team.

01

Your AWS bill grew 40% last quarter.

And you're not sure which service caused it.

02

You've looked at Cost Explorer.

The data is there. The clarity isn't.

03

CloudHealth is overkill.

You need insight, not a platform migration.

Startups and scale-ups spending $1k–$30k/month on AWS.

15 minutes to connect. Read-only access. No agents, no invasive permissions.

How It Works

A practical flow with read-only AWS access

No invasive setup. Clyst reads billing and utilization data, processes it, and turns it into decisions.

01/ 05

Connect AWS securely

You create a read-only IAM Role. Clyst cannot create or delete infrastructure resources.

The Stack

Built on APIs that ship. Not black boxes.

Every layer is a proven component with years of production history — from the AWS billing source to the AI model generating your recommendations.

01 · Source

AWS Integration Layer

Nine AWS APIs behind one read-only IAM role. Cost Explorer, EC2, RDS, ElastiCache, Lambda, CloudWatch, Health API, STS, and Rightsizing — zero write permissions.

02 · Engine

Go + PostgreSQL + Redis

Compiled, typed backend with connection pooling and durable cost history. Redis handles AI insight caching and alert deduplication.

03 · Intelligence

AI-Powered Insights

A local AI model analyzes cost and resource data to generate rightsizing, reserved instance guidance, and waste detection — 6 categories, ranked by financial impact.

04 · Deliver

Alert & Delivery Engine

Five built-in anomaly detectors plus custom rules. Daily digest and spike alerts with timezone-aware scheduling and per-recipient deduplication.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How does the AWS integration work?

Clyst uses a read-only IAM role in your AWS account. We never request write permissions — we can see your cost and usage data, but we cannot change, delete, or deploy anything on your behalf.

Setup takes under 15 minutes: you create a read-only IAM role in your AWS console, paste the role ARN into Clyst, and data starts flowing. No agents, no SDKs, no infrastructure changes required.

Why Clyst?

The River Clyst flows through Devon in south-west England, joining the Exe estuary near Exeter. Its name comes from the Celtic word "glast" — meaning clear, clean, bright.

But this quiet river was also the scene of a defining historical moment: the Prayer Book Rebellion of 1549, a popular uprising against religious change in England. The Battle of Clyst Heath was one of its most violent episodes.

Clyst carries both sides: the purity of clarity and the force of transformation.

"Clyst comes from an English river whose name means clarity and purity. But it was also the scene of historical transformation. That's exactly what we do: we bring clarity through the noise — and help turn complex situations into simple decisions."
